Forced update is a mess. Crashing crashing crashing

After being forced to update in order to read the paper I find that the app is working very poorly.

When I first open the app and click on any article, the app crashes. When you pull down the menu in any section that has the list of all the articles and try to click on any one of them the app crashes. If you change pages from time to time the app crashes

Whenever I change pages and theres a graphic on the page it flashes numerous times before it finally displaying which is annoying and distracting.

And one of my favorites is sometimes when you click on a picture that leads to an article The article comes up and tells you must be a subscriber in order to read it
