The app is easy to use. Period. This is a convenient way to read a great newspaper.
Lead page has no font size adjustment, on pages with font size adjustment there are four choices, teal color is way too faint, type style is also faint. Go look at NY Times for something readable
iPhone app doesnt refresh stories (have to close out and open to get latest stories). iPad app is excellent.
Please aid your loyal online readers by returning to a format that doesnt resemble a printer running low on toner. Neither the font size nor clarity are user friendly. Is the WSJ trying to fade into obscurity?
New font is hard to read, too small on page before you open the article.
I start everyday with this app. I appreciate the solid writing found in the WSJ. So many digital media apps rush to get stories out and dont properly edit their stories. It drives me nuts to see so much poorly written material online. This newspaper is a welcome exception to that. The app is easy to navigate and Ive never had problems updating it in the three months Ive had it.
App is buggy. The prior version finally was made stable enough to make it useable. Then, they "updated" it, probably to allow more forced advertising to be crammed into our reading. The new version is more useful, and each update only seems to make it better. The things that continue to annoy are the continual closing and reloading of articles with digital content, like interviews, especially in the WSJ Magazine section, and the stupid ads one is forced to endure to watch a video clip. Im retired, and I wont be bringing in BDO for anything, unless they vacuum and dust. For what we pay for a subscription, I should be able to view content without the pointless ads. Using IPad 2 with current IOS.
1. Easy by accident to slip from one story category to another - annoying. 2. Hard to tell how current stories are. 3. All saved stories are lost when switching to new device in same account. 4. Font should be more readable.
Best internet source for all financial news
After essentially abandoning the print version of the Wall Street Journal, i.e., making no real attempt to deliver a hard copy with any consistency, Dow Jones now seems dedicated to killing the WSJ app as well. Many of the ads lock up my iPad. On some days, it is just not worth the trouble or the time to reboot everything to finish reading an article. Often the app loads as a blank white page and just sits there with no content. Fridays WSJ was not available until Sunday. I have been in financial services for more than 30 years and typically started my day by reading the Wall Street Journal. Over the last several years this has become increasingly difficult to do. My guess that one day I will realize I havent read the WSJ for a while and it just wont matter anymore. Sad, sort of of.
I love the news articles. New font is easy to read. I ignore the editorials...too conservative
Format is unfamiliar in migrating to the iPhone 6s version from the iPad but navigation between sections is very intuitive. Although I thought I would miss the ritual of retrieving and opening the paper in the morning the convenience and timing of the WSJ in this format continues to trump ritual.
Sometimes a crossword puzzle, sometimes not?!? Why cant WSJ write a reliable app?
Great app. Very handy I use it often. Highly recommend
I am fed up with the WSJ. The comments are bad enough - but now I am getting ads that block stories and then kill the app. I have removed the app from my iPad and will think long and hard about re-installing it. Meanwhile I am also debating cancelling my subscription. The unfiltered hatred expressed in some comments are so bad that I wonder what the hell has happened to this country.
Not as easy to navigate as the full web version, but reliably gets me my news on my phone.
Its the great WSJ content with a reader that auto fits the screen of my iPhone 6. The font size is adjustable. The news alerts keep me up to date with critical headlines. I rarely have time during the day to read the print version as my wife does, so this portable reader allows me to catch up during breaks in the day and we can discuss the articles when I get home. 11/3/15 I appreciate the "tap for updates" button, to avoid refreshing the screen while Im in the middle of an article. Being able to save articles to show and discuss with others later is a big plus for me.
Disappointed that the crosswords have disappeared in the latest version.
Very disappointed the WSJ removed crossword puzzle from the app. The app had gotten better now its worse.
